Privacy Policy — Gentleskin

Last updated: October 15, 2026

This policy explains what Gentleskin ("the app") collects and how it is used.

No account, no personal identification

Gentleskin has no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for your email address or phone number, and we do not collect them. The app never asks for, or reads, your device's location. Any name you enter in the app is used only to greet you.

Your entries

What you log in the app — episodes, counts, minutes, body parts, how aware you were, settings, and the answers you gave during setup — is stored on your device so the app can show it back to you, and is synced through your own iCloud account so you don't lose it. We cannot read your iCloud data. It is not sold, and it is never shared with advertisers or data brokers.

Usage data

To understand how the app is used and improve it, the app also sends usage data to our analytics provider (PostHog). This includes which screens and features you use, and what you log: the counts, minutes, body part names, awareness, times of day, targets, and setup answers described above. It is identified only by a random device identifier, never by your name, email address, or phone number, and it is used only to improve Gentleskin. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Like any internet request, this data arrives with your IP address, and our analytics provider derives an approximate location from it (your country and, usually, your city). That is the only location information involved; the app never uses GPS or your device's location services.

You can switch this off at any time in the app, under You → More → "Share usage data". When it is off, nothing about your use of the app is sent to the analytics provider.

Crash reports

When the app freezes or crashes, a technical report is sent to our crash-reporting provider (Sentry) so we can fix it. It contains the stack trace, the device model and OS version, which screens were open, and the size of your history (for example, how many entries you have). While usage sharing is on, it may also include the values involved in the actions leading up to the failure; with usage sharing off, it never does.

Purchases

Whether a subscription is active is checked through our subscription provider (RevenueCat) to unlock the app. Payment is handled by Apple; we never receive your card details.

RevenueCat also passes subscription events (a free trial starting, turning into a paid subscription, being cancelled, renewing or being refunded) to our analytics provider, so we can see whether the app is worth paying for. While "Share usage data" is on, these events carry the same anonymous ID as your usage data. With it off, they are not linked to your usage at all, only to the random ID the subscription provider assigns.

None of this data is used to track you across other apps or websites. The app contains no advertising and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).

Notifications

If you allow them, the app schedules occasional reminders on your device.

Deleting your data

Entries can be deleted inside the app. Deleting the app removes its data from your device, and switching off "Share usage data" stops any further usage data from being sent. To request deletion of anything else associated with your use of the app, contact us at the address below.

Children

Gentleskin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date.
